Catholic Charities Bureau Inc. provides financial assistance to families in crisis. Along with information and referrals, services also are provided for seniors, the disabled, adoption and maternity, farm worker, refugee and immigration. Call 386-328-2333 to make an appointment.

Episcopal Children's Services provides a variety of programs for children from birth until age five. School Readiness Services, including VPK, as well as Child Care Resources and Referrals are available. Financial assistance may be available for certain services. Heart of Putnam Food Pantry provides a balanced variety of food to individuals and families in our community who would otherwise go without. They are located at 521 S. 13th Street in Palatka and their hours are Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:00 - 2:00 pm. They can be reached at 386-972-0875.

Lee Conlee House offers vital services to families affected by domestic violence through a 24-hour help line, emergency shelter, transitional housing, court advocacy, community outreach and primary prevention training. Hotline 386-325-3141.

Palatka Christian Service Center provides critical support, inspiration and guidance to individuals and families. The Center provides basic services such as food, clothing, shelter, medical needs, employment support, financial counseling for electric, rent, educational needs and more. Please call 386-328-0984 to make an appointment Monday - Friday from 9:30 to 1:30. The thrift store is located at 2600 Peters Street, Palatka.

Putnam First Cancer Fund assists Putnam County residents who have been diagnosed with cancer, or are in need of diagnostic testing, in meeting basic needs such as food, clothing, lodging, utilities, transportation and other special needs. For eligibility requirements visit or call 386-325-8140.

Putnam Habitat for Humanity brings critical/emergency home repairs to low income homeowners throughout Putnam County. Assistance for prospective homeowners in attaining home loans through the USDA's 502 Home Loan Program is also available. Please call or email for more information or 386-325-5862

South Putnam Christian Service Center (Crescent City) is a central point of contact fo area churches' hardship cases. The center assists individuals who live in South Putnam with food, clothing, lodging, transportation, utility bills and prescription medication. 386-698-1944

St. Vincent De Paul Society (West Putnam) provides emergency food items, emergency financial assistance for utilities, rent, mortgage, clothing, furniture and household items for those in need. A home visit may be required. Please call 386-684-2797 to make an appointment.

Learn to Read of St. Johns County provides one-on-one literacy tutoring to individuals 16 years of age and older in St. Johns and Putnam Counties. In addition to one-on-one tutoring in reading, math, writing and language arts, Learn to Read offers English for Speakers of Other Language conversation classes and prepares students for the US Citizenship exam. All of our services are free and made possible through the generous support from United Way of St. Johns County, businesses, churches, corporate foundations, civic organizations, individuals and special events.
